 IceWM Themes

by Albi on: Jun 7 2007

Please import the ones from KDE-Look, I have several which I can re-upload, but it seems a waste doing so.

What's up with the Openbox themes? They all have a huge titlebar font. How can I change it?

Hi,

I have problems downloading Openbox Themes. Everything else is working proporly but just not OB Themes. I constantly get back to the original page. The downloading window never appears. I tried clicking the direct link (that you should click if its not downloading automaticaly) but that also makes me comming back to the original page. What shall I do? Help please.

What Tool Do You Use, I use KGet ,MayBe try install a Different DownLoader,
You might need to check the settings to see if it allows you to download all file types etc.

 Port themes to OpenBox?

by ArkBlitz on: Oct 20 2009

Is it possible to port themes from XFCE or GNOME to Openbox? Most Openbox themes look too dull and square, can something be done like Wallis for XFCE or Human for GNOME?

Well, there is a problem. Openbox cannot use bitmap images for themes (except for monochrome images used in buttons). And there is a Human-like theme in Openbox.

What a pity then. But is there a windows manager over here that can do something like XFCE?

Well, you can use xfwm4 and xfdesktop without xfce.

So, if I'm using Ubuntu (or XUbuntu or LUbuntu), how do I keep everything in LXDE, but only switch the window border manager with XFCE?

You should type in your console:
cp /usr/bin/openbox-session ~/.Xsession
then edit .Xsession file in any text editor and change "/usr/bin/openbox" to "/usr/bin/xfwm4".
Then you edit (or create) a file ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh:

#Force OpenOffice.org to use GTK theme
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome
lxpanel &
pcmanfm -d &

And voila, you are now using XFWM with LXDE's panel and desktop.

*If you are using GDM, don't forget to change your session to "Xsession script" or something like that.
